Owner RovinaNugara has 25 years experience in the industry, and has worked in the Northern VA-Washington DC region for over 12 years. The stylists and staff at Salon Rovina are committed to providing their clients with the highest quality service and a personalized experience.

DSC 5183Rovina began her carreer as a hair stylist at the young age of 17 and was trained in Singapore and Sri Lanka with Tony and Guy from the United Kingdom. Rovina’s inspiration to become a hairstylist came from watching her sister, Romani, who also owns her own boutique salon, Salon Romani, in Sri Lanka. Hairdressing runs in their family, and Rovina’s brother Royston and sister Rochelle are also hairdressers. Before migrating to the US, Rovina worked as a senior stylist and salon manager at Ramani Fernando Salons in Sri Lanka and won the Asian Competition for Hair and Beauty in 1998. Since arriving in the Washington, DC area, Rovina worked at Hair Gallery in Arlington, VA before opening her own salon at the intersection of Lee Highway and Glebe Road. She has attended hair shows in New York, Washington, DC, California, Dubai and Singapore. She is passionate about teaching hairdressing to her junior staff members and has trained many leading hairstylists who have gone on to start their own businesses.
